About Dr. Edward Formica
My goal is to provide you and your family with exceptional dental care, in a fun, comfortable environment.
I have been practicing Dentistry in Hemet since I graduated from UCLA in 1990. I am a member of Tri-County Dental Society, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Hemet/San Jacinto Exchange Club, Healthy Valley Foundation, Valley Trails Alliance and the Western Science Board. We have been working for years with valley charities and education, including Valley Wide Recreation, valley schools, boy scouts, Ramona Bowl, Western Center and many individual athletic and student groups. Our efforts helped build the aquatic center, Diamond Valley recreation center, Searl Park, Bill Gray park exercise trail and the upcoming Jim Venable Exchange Club park in Valle Vista.
My wife Chris & I have lived in the Hemet area since 1990. We are active in both this community and our church. We have enjoyed raising our 4 children in this valley. We hope the next generation has the same opportunities.

Jennifer Bagshaw R.D.H. (Registered Dental Hygienist)
I have been in the dental field for 15 years, and still love it. I work hard to provide the best care for each patient. Sometimes I feel like a personal trainer, giving tips and insights customized to each individual; sharing why and how to take care of their teeth and gums so they can have a healthy smile.
I enjoy working at Dr. Formica’s office because of the professional and friendly atmosphere, the hour long appointments for hygiene care, and the confidence I have in our team’s ability to provide the best dental care for each individual. I love hiking and jogging and all things teeth. I have two dogs, Ruka and Zoie. One is well behaved and the other, … but their teeth are clean!
Gail Starling R.D.H. (Registered Dental Hygienist)
Hello! My name is Gail Starling. Though I have recently moved to Menifee from northern California, I have childhood roots in Riverside and Moreno Valley.
After graduating from Moreno Valley High School and 2 years at UC Riverside I transferred to Fresno State University. In Fresno I married my high school sweetheart (true story!). I completed my education to become a dental hygienist and receive a BA in Public Health. Following graduation, my husband and I remained in the Fresno area for another 15 years. This is where my son and two daughters were born and where we built lasting friendships. We loved spending time in the mountains and lakes in the Sierras as well as Fresno State sports!!
My husband accepted a job transfer to Santa Rosa, CA where we spent the next 27 years. I was also employed by one dentist for that entire time period. Though we enjoyed the beauty of Sonoma County my husband was offered yet another employment opportunity back in southern California. I miss the family I left up north including grandchildren but have embraced this new adventure.
As a veteran hygienist, I continue to be passionate about my profession. I also recognize an equally passionate dentist! I value ethics, commitment and building trusting relationships with patients as does Dr. Formica. I am grateful to be a team member with Formica Family Dentistry and continuing my professional growth and career.

Hello! I have been in the dental field for over 20 years. I am originally from Northern California and have lived in Hemet for 2 years. After graduating from Modesto High, I decided that I would like to work in the dental field, so I attended Galen College to become a dental assistant.
As I worked, I gained knowledge and experience. I am passionate about my job and making sure our patients are satisfied and happy with their smiles.
Working for Dr. Formica a is a blessing. Our office is family orientated and professional. My fellow co workers and I work together as an excellent team!
Louella Giles R.D.A. (Registered Dental Assistant)
I have been working in dentistry for 10 years, the first 3 years were volunteering for the Red Cross in Italy. Before I began work for Dr. Formica, I worked in Murrieta assisting with general and implant dentistry.
My husband is a retired Navy veteran and together we have 2 daughters, the oldest currently goes to San Francisco State University and the youngest is still in high school.
I was born in the Philippines and raised in Japan. I met my husband in Okinawa. Our family moved to the United States after the birth of our second daughter.
We like to travel all over the world and experience many new things and sights, including my favorites, Munich Germany and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
I am coming up on my third year here with Doctor Formica. I look forward to helping our patients with their dental health.
